The Faculty of Arts at Kuwait University would like to invite you to participate in its conference “Scientific culture: between Reality and Expectation” to be held on 7-9 of April, 2015.
The conference themes include the following topics:
- History of Scientific culture and production in the Arab World: which covers the following:
- monitoring the history of scientific culture and production in the Arab region.
- Monitoring the progress of awareness about scientific culture.
- Media outlets as means of disseminating scientific culture; their roles and impacts.
- Pioneers of scientific culture in the Arab world (their roles, strategies, and contributions towards scientific culture).
- Scientific culture and education (the educated teacher, scientific curriculum and culture, education and scientific change, empirical science and humanities and culture)
- Scientific culture and society (nature of Arab societies and its reflection on scientific culture, conflict between scientific culture and classical culture in the society, societal values and scientific culture, fundamentals of societal and psychological resistance to change and novelty.)
- Scientific culture and art (subjectivism and objectivism between science and art, between scientific and artistic fiction, can scientific and artistic culture merge?)
- Between science and culture (scientific thought and culture, science and cultural environment, scientific methodology and culture, role of science fiction in disseminating scientific culture).
- Scientific culture in the age of transformations (globalization, revolution of communication, and environment issues)
- Science and cultural modernization (the nature of science and properties of cultural modernization, aspects of scientific applications (technology) on cultural modernization, science and obstacles of cultural modernization)
We look forward to receiving the abstracts of your research papers no later than 1 October, 2014 (preferably in both English and Arabic versions). Please be advised that abstracts should be no longer than 200 words. The deadline for receiving your full research paper on a CD (which should not be in excess of 3000 words) is 1st March, 2014.
